Motorola is returning to the US Android tablet market for the first time in over a decade with the Moto Pad (2026), a 5G tablet launching exclusively through T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile on 2026-04-30 for $250.
The Moto Pad features a 27.9 cm (11 inch) LCD display running at 2500 x 1600 pixels with a 90 Hz refresh rate and 500-nit brightness, powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Quad speakers with Dolby Atmos handle audio, and a 7,040 mAh battery supports 20W wired charging. The metal chassis measures 255 x 166 x 7 mm (10 x 6.5 x 0.3 inches) and weighs 480 grams (1.1 lbs), with IP52 water resistance and a 3.5mm audio jack. Cameras include an 8MP rear and 5MP front unit, with USB 2.0 Type-C for connectivity.
Motorola's tablet history dates back further than most might expect. In 2011, the company partnered with Google to launch the Xoom, the first tablet running a build of Android specifically designed for larger screens rather than a scaled-up phone interface. The company released a couple of follow-up models before stepping away from the category entirely. Lenovo acquired Motorola Mobility in 2014 and has since maintained its own tablet lineup under the Lenovo brand while keeping Motorola focused on smartphones, making this US launch a notable return for the brand.
