Bazzite has pushed its latest stable image, version 44.20260511, swapping the stock Fedora kernel 6.19.14-300 for the community-tuned 6.19.14-ogc2.1 variant. The update also brings Mesa 26.0.5, Gamescope 137, GNOME 50.1, KDE 6.6.4, and both Nvidia Open (595.71.05) and Nvidia LTS (580.142) driver packages, keeping the immutable gaming distro current across its full desktop and handheld image lineup.
Two notable fixes target Steam hardware wake behavior. The Steam wake udev rule has been aligned with Valve's upstream implementation, and a separate patch enables wakeup for the Steam Controller wireless receiver puck, resolving an issue where the dongle could not bring a suspended system back from sleep. Both changes should improve the experience for users running Bazzite in console-style configurations on handhelds and HTPCs.
On the tooling side, the internal system management layer replaces "tuner" with a new component called "refine" via PR #4884. Package updates across all images include bumps to bootc 1.15.2, gnutls 3.8.13, libcamera 0.7.1, KDE Frameworks 6.26, and python3-perf jumping to a 7.0.4-200 build. KDE images also receive SDL3_image 3.4.4. The deprecated jxrlib package has been removed entirely.
