Lenovo has unveiled the Idea Tab Pro Gen 2, an Android tablet featuring a 33 cm (13 inch) 3540 x 2190 pixel display with a 144 Hz refresh rate, touch and pen support, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. The tablet includes 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, quad speakers, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port with DisplayPort 1.4a Alt Mode, a microSD card reader, and support for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6. An optional detachable keyboard connects via pogo pins, and the device ships with a Lenovo Tab Pen Plus that supports 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, tilt detection, and palm rejection.
Lenovo is positioning the tablet as one of its first devices to support the company's new Qira "personal ambient intelligence" system, which adds AI features for note-taking, audio transcription, and text generation. A Smarter Reader feature can summarize text and save selections to a notepad, while a Smart Key on the keyboard enables quick text generation and translation using natural language prompts.
The Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 represents a significant upgrade over the current-gen Idea Tab Pro, with a larger and higher-resolution display, a faster processor, and improved wireless connectivity. Lenovo promises two major OS updates for each tablet, meaning the first-gen model will likely stop at Android 16, while the Gen 2 ships with Android 16 and should receive updates through Android 18. Both models get four years of security updates, so the original Idea Tab Pro will be supported through 2028, while the Gen 2 will receive security updates until at least 2030.
The tablet measures 29.7 x 19.2 x 0.6 cm (11.7 x 7.6 x 0.2 inches) and weighs 598 grams (1.3 pounds). Additional specs include a 10,200 mAh battery with 45W charging support, a 13MP rear camera, and an 8MP front camera. The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 will launch in Europe later this month starting at €549 ($596), though US pricing has not been announced. The first-gen model currently sells for $250 (€230) and up.
