Lenovo has released the IdeaPad Slim 5x (15Q8Y11) in North America, marking the company's first laptop powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Plus processor. The 15.3-inch (38.9 cm) laptop comes with a choice of two displays, including a 165 Hz OLED panel with 2,560 x 1,600 pixel resolution and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, or a 120 Hz IPS touchscreen with 1,920 x 1,200 resolution and 100% sRGB.
The X2P-42-100 processor features 6 Oryon Gen 3 Prime cores running at 4 GHz on a 3 nm process with a 22 W TDP. Lenovo offers the laptop with either a 54.7 Wh or 70 Wh battery, which the company rates for over 24 and 30 hours of local 1080p video playback at 150 nits respectively. The system supports up to 32 GB of RAM and includes M.2 2242 storage.
Pricing starts at $850 (€782) in the US for the base configuration and reaches $1,329 (€1,223) when equipped with 32 GB of RAM, a 1 TB SSD, the 70 Wh battery, and the 1600p OLED display. In Canada, the laptop starts at CAD 1,180 (approximately $862 or €793) and tops out at CAD 1,839 (approximately $1,344 or €1,237). Lenovo has not yet announced pricing or availability for other markets.
