Honor has confirmed the global launch of its MagicPad 4 tablet, beating Samsung's Galaxy Tab S12 series to market. The device features a 12.3-inch display with a 165 Hz refresh rate and runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, the same processor found in devices like the OnePlus 15R. Qualcomm provided same-day upstream Linux kernel support for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 when the chipset launched, with patches posted for device tree support, CPUs, storage, and other hardware components, potentially opening the door for Linux enthusiasts to experiment with alternative operating systems on compatible hardware.
The MagicPad 4 packs at least a 10,000 mAh battery into a chassis under 5 mm (0.2 inches) thick. Honor will offer the tablet with a detachable keyboard accessory, positioning it as a productivity device. The combination of the high refresh rate display and flagship Snapdragon chipset should deliver smooth performance for both work and entertainment.
According to Honor's promotional materials, the MagicPad 4 should reach general availability by 2026-04-01. The company is running a competition in the UK offering the tablet for £1, suggesting the device will be priced competitively when it launches. Honor is also preparing to unveil its Magic V6 foldable and Robot Phone during MWC 2026 in Barcelona.
