Bazzite has rolled out its latest stable image, version 43.20260415, bringing a focused round of graphics and desktop updates alongside a significant overhaul of the distribution's first-run setup experience. The gaming-oriented Fedora Atomic spin now ships Mesa 26.0.4 and KDE Plasma 6.6.4, both incremental updates that land alongside kernel 6.17.7 and XWayland 24.1.10.
The most visible changes in this release center on the Bazzite Portal, which received a broad refactoring of its underlying ujust commands and yafti configuration. A new troubleshooting button now calls the built-in getlogs script directly from the portal, giving users a one-click path to collecting diagnostic information. Sunshine streaming has also been refactored to install via Homebrew and integrate with the new portal workflow, simplifying setup for users who stream games to other devices. Steam Deck users on KDE pick up a fix for the on-screen keyboard that had broken under previous Steamdeck-KDE-Presets defaults.
Under the hood, the build pipeline gains SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) generation and updates to cosign, ORAS, and GitHub Actions dependencies. Dozens of packages see point releases, including Flatpak jumping from 1.16.3 to 1.16.6, bootc moving to 1.15.0, topgrade making the leap from 15.0.0 to 16.0.4, and glibc ticking to 2.42-11. GNOME image users get refreshed Blur my Shell, Caffeine, and Compiz-alike window effect extensions. Existing users can update through normal system updates or rebase manually with bazzite-rollback-helper rebase 43.20260415.
