The latest Bazzite stable update pushes the gaming-focused atomic Fedora image to Mesa 26.1.0, kernel 7.0.9-ogc3.2, and Nvidia's open kernel module at 610.43.02, with the legacy LTS branch parked at 580.159.04 for users sticking with the proprietary stack. Gamescope advances to a fresh git snapshot (137.7c5ebe99), keeping the compositor used for Steam Deck-style HDR and session management in step with upstream Valve work.
KDE Plasma users on Nvidia get a workaround rather than a fix this cycle. Maintainer Kyle Gospodnetich shipped a patched KWin spec and switched the image over to it (commit) while an unresolved regression in the latest Nvidia 610 driver gets sorted out upstream. GNOME tracks 50.1, and Plasma sits at 6.6.5.
The Steam Deck variant continues its slow convergence with SteamOS. A session cleanup commit further aligns return-to-gamemode behavior in KDE with what Valve ships, and a Sunshine fix from contributor andy10115 sets capture=kms and disables the system tray for the sunshine-beta install path, addressing remote-play setups on Deck hardware. A separate PR from Alex Shek adds an in-image notice for Sunshine on Deck builds. Less welcome news for early adopters: the recently merged Bazzite GUI Updater has been reverted, and -deck builds remain disabled on the :testing channel for the moment.
Under the hood the package bumps lean toward filesystem and tooling hygiene. ntfs-3g jumps from a years-old 2022.10.3 snapshot to the modern 2026.2.25 release, xfsprogs moves to 7.0.1, libinput ticks to 1.31.3, and Waydroid lands at 1.6.3 for users running Android workloads on top of the immutable base. The Bazaar app store, the Flatpak-first storefront Bazzite has been leaning on since dropping GNOME Software, updates to 0.8.3.
Existing installs can pull the image with bazzite-rollback-helper rebase stable, or pin to this specific build with bazzite-rollback-helper rebase 44.20260608. Full commit log and image manifests are on the Bazzite GitHub releases page.
