TCL has launched the Nxtpaper 70 Pro smartphone with a display designed to minimize digital eye strain through a combination of anti-glare coating and flicker-free backlighting. The phone uses Nxtpaper 4.0 technology featuring nano-matrix lithography on the top glass to create a matte, paper-like surface that reduces glare. A DC backlight regulator eliminates pulse width modulation (PWM) flickering, which can trigger headaches, nausea, and eye fatigue in sensitive users, while a physical light filter reduces blue light exposure.
The device runs Android 16 on a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor with 8 GB of RAM (expandable to 24 GB through virtual memory) and either 256 GB or 512 GB of storage. The 120 Hz, 1,080 x 2,340 LCD display can switch between three modes using a dedicated hardware button: full color, monochrome ink paper, and monochrome max ink. An optional T-pen stylus with 4,096 pressure levels attaches magnetically to a stand case for note-taking and sketching.
Camera hardware includes a 50 MP main rear sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide, and a 32 MP front-facing camera. The IP68-rated phone packs a 5,200 mAh battery with 33W fast charging, weighs 208 g (7.3 oz), and measures 169.4 x 80.05 x 7.98 mm (6.67 x 3.15 x 0.31 in). AI features include real-time translation, voice transcription, and text summarization.
The TCL Nxtpaper 70 Pro is priced at $350 (€299) for the 256 GB model and $420 (€359) for the 512 GB version. The T-pen stylus and stand case are sold separately.
