The Murena Volla is a 12.6-inch privacy-focused tablet that ships with /e/OS, a Google-free Android distribution developed by Murena in collaboration with German hardware maker Volla. The tablet is aimed at users who want the broad app compatibility of Android without handing their data over to Google, and it fills a niche between pure Linux tablets and stock Android devices.

Under the hood, the Murena Volla runs on a MediaTek Helio G99 octa-core chip with 2x ARM Cortex-A76 cores at 2.2 GHz and 6x Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz, paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The 12.6-inch display hits 2560x1600 at 240 ppi with 400 nits of brightness. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, a single USB-C port, and 4G LTE support that is limited to European networks. A 10,000 mAh battery powers the device, and the whole package measures 291.1 x 189.3 x 8 mm and weighs 500 g (1.1 lbs).

The software stack is where Murena differentiates the device. /e/OS is based on Android 14 and ships without Google Mobile Services, instead relying on MicroG for limited compatibility with apps that depend on Google APIs. The included App Lounge displays a privacy score for each application, and the Advanced Privacy system lets users spoof their GPS location or block trackers at the OS level. A suite of open-source apps covers browsing, email, maps, calendar, and file management, while optional Murena cloud services provide synchronized contacts, calendar, and file storage for users who want a self-contained ecosystem. The underlying hardware also has an active Ubuntu Touch port maintained by the UBports community (last updated January 2026), which brings a full Linux environment to the device and allows desktop applications such as LibreOffice and Firefox to run alongside mobile apps.

The Murena Volla Tablet is priced at $800 (€698). It is currently out of stock, but Murena says new units typically ship within two weeks of joining the waitlist. The company ships to the EU, USA, UK, Switzerland, and select other regions.
