Lenovo has launched the Legion Y700 Gen 5 in China with significantly more memory than its global counterpart. The compact gaming tablet arrives with up to 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, doubling the RAM and quadrupling the storage compared to the Legion Tab Gen 5 sold in other markets. The device features an 8.8-inch display running at 3,040 x 1,904 pixels with a 165 Hz refresh rate, 750 nits peak brightness, and 98% DCI-P3 color space coverage.
Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the same processor found in flagship phones like the OnePlus 15 and RedMagic 11 Pro, the Legion Y700 Gen 5 targets serious mobile gaming. The tablet packs a 9,000 mAh battery and supports dual charging through its two USB Type-C ports. Lenovo has also integrated AI network acceleration technology that reportedly reduces latency by up to 54.8% in unstable network conditions, addressing a common pain point for online gaming.
The base configuration with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage mirrors the Legion Tab Gen 5 sold globally. A mid-tier option offers 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for roughly 18% more than the base model. The top-end 24 GB RAM and 1 TB storage variant costs CNY 6,399, approximately $930 (€855). Lenovo has not explained why the higher memory configuration remains exclusive to the Chinese market or whether it plans to offer these specs globally.
