The Bazzite team has rolled out a fresh stable update, tagged 44.20260515, bringing the gaming-focused Fedora Atomic spin up to kernel 6.19.14-ogc5.1 from the previous ogc2.1 build. The release pulls in three successive bumps of the project's custom OGC kernel branch, alongside refreshed graphics and compositor stacks aimed squarely at the Steam Deck and desktop gaming crowd.
On the graphics side, the image ships Mesa 26.0.5-1 and a current 137.7c5ebe99-1 build of Gamescope, the Valve micro-compositor that handles HDR, scaling, and frame limiting for handheld and big-picture sessions. XWayland has been bumped to 24.1.11, replacing the previous Bazzite-patched 24.1.10 build. Both Nvidia driver tracks are updated in parallel, with Nvidia Open at 595.71.05-1 and the LTS branch at 580.142-1.
Desktop environments get their own refresh, with GNOME at 50.1-1 and KDE Plasma at 6.6.4-1. A notable Plasma-side fix migrates a longstanding SDDM workaround over to plasmalogin, KDE's new login manager. The release also bundles a Firmware flatpak by default, giving users a graphical front end for device firmware updates rather than relying on the command line.
The Bazaar software center, Bazzite's curated app browser, moves to 0.7.15-1 and switches its bundled artwork to JPEG XL (.jxl) files to cut image weight. Smaller housekeeping changes include unpinned flatpak runtimes in the legacy installer, a corrected Jellyfin Desktop entry, and improved search on the Bazzite documentation site.
