Bazzite, the Fedora-based gaming Linux distribution optimized for Steam Deck and gaming PCs, released version 43.20260406 on 2026-04-06 with updated core packages and live ISO fixes. The release brings Linux kernel 6.17.7, Mesa 26.0.3 graphics drivers, and KDE Plasma 6.6.3, alongside GNOME 49.6 for users preferring that desktop environment.

On the graphics front, the update includes Nvidia driver 595.58.03 for RTX 40-series and newer cards, plus LTS driver 580.95.05 for older hardware. Gamescope, the Wayland compositor designed for gaming sessions, received updates to build ba148. The distribution also ships with updated Linux firmware package 20260309-1 for improved hardware compatibility.

The release includes several live ISO improvements focused on read-only mount handling and Flatpak configuration. Contributors fixed issues with access time updates on read-only mounts and properly configured the var-lib-flatpak.mount systemd unit. Additional system package updates include rpm-ostree 2026.1-3, libinput 1.30.3, and vim 9.2.280.

Current Bazzite users can rebase to the new version using the bazzite-rollback-helper tool. The distribution continues its development as an immutable, atomic desktop built on Universal Blue's custom Fedora images, targeting both desktop gaming systems and handheld devices like Valve's Steam Deck.
