The graphics stack takes the spotlight in the latest stable build of Bazzite, tagged 44.20260629, which advances Mesa from 26.1.0 to 26.1.3. For anyone gaming on AMD or Intel GPUs, those point releases fold in the bug fixes and driver refinements that keep the RADV and ANV Vulkan drivers current, and they arrive alongside a fresh Gamescope build (137.7c5ebe99) and an updated Steam client (1.0.0.87). The image also rides the 7.0.9-ogc3.2 kernel, the gaming-tuned tree that underpins Bazzite's handheld and desktop targets.
Desktop environments move forward in step. KDE Plasma jumps from 6.6.5 to 6.7.1, pulling KWin, KIO and the Breeze icon theme up to the 6.27 KDE Frameworks series, while the GNOME variant advances from 50.1 to 50.3. NVIDIA users are covered on both branches, with the open driver at 610.43.02 and the LTS driver at 580.159.04. A cleanup on the NVIDIA image drops a no longer needed KWin swap now that Plasma 6.7 handles the case natively, and GNOME sees popup blur disabled by default.
Bazzite is built on Fedora's atomic, image-based foundation from the Universal Blue project, so updates land as a whole signed image rather than a stream of individual packages. This release gives the Bazaar software center and the onboarding Portal several passes: a reworked welcome screen and updated action buttons (#5052), the Portal now opening Bazaar after a dialog acknowledgement (#5144), and a second pass on the welcome tab (#5076). A masking bug that could leave both wireless services disabled by mistake was also fixed.
Underneath the desktop, the userland picks up meaningful version bumps for self-hosters and tinkerers alike: Flatpak reaches 1.18.0, PipeWire moves to 1.6.7, Podman to 5.8.3, systemd to 259.7, and OpenSSL to 3.5.7, with WireGuard tools, distrobox and rpm-ostree all refreshed as well. Existing installs can move to the build by running bazzite-rollback-helper rebase stable, or pin the exact image with bazzite-rollback-helper rebase 44.20260629. The full commit and package manifest lives in the Bazzite repository.
