Bazzite has pushed stable release 44.20260430, a point update that lands a notable workaround for an issue affecting Nvidia users during early boot. The fix addresses a conflict between Nvidia's open kernel modules and Dracut, the initramfs generation framework, which could cause problems during image builds. The patch was contributed by community member nklowns and integrated by maintainer Kyle Gospodnetich.
The release carries kernel 6.19.11-ogc1.1, Mesa 26.0.5, Gamescope 137, GNOME 50.1, and KDE 6.6.4, with Nvidia Open drivers at 595.58.03 and Nvidia LTS at 580.142. Alongside the Nvidia fix, fuse-libs is now explicitly included in all Bazzite images to prevent edge cases where the library was missing, and Cockpit is now fully stopped and removed when disabled rather than leaving residual services behind. The Blur my Shell GNOME extension also received a couple of dependency updates.
Under the hood, the image pulls in refreshed versions of several system packages including dnf5 5.4.2, elfutils 0.195, libarchive 3.8.7, vim 9.2.390, and an updated SELinux policy bumped to 44.1. Xwayland receives a Bazzite-specific patched build based on 24.1.10. Existing users can rebase to the new image with bazzite-rollback-helper rebase stable or pin to this specific build with bazzite-rollback-helper rebase 44.20260430.
