Advantech has introduced the MIO-5356, the first known hardware platform built around Intel's upcoming Core Series 3 (Core 300) Wildcat Lake processors. The 3.5-inch single-board computer targets industrial applications and supports up to the Intel Core 7 350 hexa-core chip, featuring two performance cores running at 1.5 GHz base and 4.6 GHz turbo, alongside four low-power efficiency cores. All three processor options (Core 3 305, Core 5 320, and Core 7 350) share a 15W TDP, though the block diagram suggests configurability between 10W and 28W.

The fanless board packs considerable I/O for its compact 14.6 cm x 10.2 cm (5.7 inches x 4.0 inches) footprint. It supports up to 64GB DDR5-6400 memory and NVMe storage via M.2 sockets, drives up to three independent displays through USB-C (with DisplayPort 1.4a and 2.1), HDMI 2.1, and LVDS outputs, and provides networking through Intel i226 2.5GbE (with TSN support) and Intel i210 GbE controllers. The board also includes six USB ports (including USB4 and USB 3.2 Type-C options), RS-232/422/485 serial interfaces, CAN FD support, and M.2 slots for optional WiFi, Bluetooth, and 4G LTE or 5G cellular connectivity.

Advantech lists compatibility with Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 and Ubuntu Desktop 24.04 LTS. The Linux support benefits from recent upstream kernel work, as Wildcat Lake platform support arrived in Linux kernel 6.17 and 6.18 throughout 2025, including display and power management drivers. Intel also released NPU driver support for the platform's neural processing unit in early 2026, and compiler optimizations for Wildcat Lake were added to GCC and LLVM for improved performance on open source toolchains.

The MIO-5356 operates across 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) and accepts 12-24V DC input via a 4-pin ATX connector, with optional 100W USB Power Delivery support. The product page remains marked as preliminary, and pricing and availability have not been announced. More technical details are available in the PDF datasheet on the Advantech website.
