SONOFF has expanded its Hydro lineup with the Hydro DUO, a battery-powered smart water valve that splits a single inlet into two independently controlled outlets. The new model targets gardeners who want to automate two watering zones from one device, and it speaks both Zigbee 3.0 and Bluetooth 5 LE so it can run with or without a hub.
Under the hood sits a Telink TLSR8258 multiprotocol microcontroller clocked at 48 MHz, with support for Zigbee 3.0, BLE 5, Thread, and 6LoWPAN. The valve ships in two flavors, SWV-ZF2U with NH threading for North America and SWV-ZF2E with BSP threading for Europe and most other regions. The brass inlets replace the plastic ones used on the earlier SONOFF SWV, and the enclosure carries an IP65 rating. Working water pressure ranges from 0.06 to 0.8 MPa, and the unit measures 132 x 121 x 67 mm (5.2 x 4.8 x 2.6 inches). Power comes from four AA batteries wired in a 2S2P configuration for about a year of runtime, with a USB Type-C port available as a backup.
A built-in flow meter tracks volume per zone, and the eWelink app exposes up to 12 watering schedules with duration or capacity triggers, plus rain delay, seasonal adjustment, child lock, and alerts for leaks, freezing, low battery, and water shortages. Manual A/B buttons sit on the housing for offline control. The Hydro DUO works with Home Assistant over MQTT, and Zigbee2MQTT already has a dedicated SWV-ZF2 device page covering independent on/off control for both channels, irrigation history by zone, battery reporting, and OTA updates, with dual-endpoint support contributed through a community pull request to zigbee-herdsman-converters and verified against a ZBDongle-E. It also integrates with Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, and Apple Home through a Matter bridge such as the ZBBridge-U, the iHost, or Cube OS with a SONOFF Zigbee dongle. One caveat worth noting for offline setups: weather-based skipping and scene linkage require a Zigbee connection and won't function in BLE proximity mode.
Full configuration details are in the official documentation. The Hydro DUO is up for pre-order at $42 (€39), with shipping slated to begin by the end of June 2026.
