RedMagic is adding a Trace Edition to its RedMagic 11 Air gaming smartphone lineup, bringing orange accents to the device's transparent design. The new variant arrives globally on 2026-03-30 with pre-orders opening the same day, though the update is purely cosmetic.

The Trace Edition builds on the same foundation as the existing Phantom and Prism finishes, featuring a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, 7,000 mAh battery with 80W fast charging, and a 17.4 cm (6.85 inch) AMOLED display running at 144 Hz. The screen uses under-panel camera technology to house the front-facing camera beneath the display. Orange accents appear around the camera lenses, on one of the physical hardware buttons, and across sections of the transparent back panel.

RedMagic is only offering the Trace Edition in a single configuration with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, skipping the base 12 GB RAM variant available for other finishes. The device will cost $599 (€599) in the US and Eurozone, with UK pricing set at £529 (€617).

For enthusiasts interested in custom firmware, the RedMagic 11 Air currently lacks bootloader unlock support, with community development tools only supporting the RedMagic 11 Pro model. While Qualcomm has posted upstream Linux kernel patches for the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset family, device-level support depends on bootloader accessibility and vendor cooperation, neither of which is currently available for the 11 Air.
