Poco has officially confirmed that its next smartphone series will feature MediaTek's latest Dimensity 9500s and Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipsets. The company announced the news on X, referring to the lineup as the "Poco X Pro series," though leaks suggest the phones will be called the Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max.

The Poco X8 Pro Max is expected to use the Dimensity 9500s, a high-end octa-core processor built on a 3nm process that sits just below the flagship Dimensity 9500 found in phones like the Vivo X300 Pro. The Poco X8 Pro will reportedly feature the Dimensity 8500 Ultra, a 4nm chipset with eight Cortex-A725 cores and a Mali-G720 GPU. This follows the release of the Poco X7 Pro in January 2025, which launched with the Dimensity 8400 Ultra.

Poco has not announced an official release date, but previous leaks point to a global launch on 2025-03-14. The new phones are expected to be rebranded versions of the Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max, which launched earlier in China.
