Icewhale Technology Unveils ZimaBoard 2 Featuring N150 CPU and Dual SATA Interfaces for Versatile Use

Table of Contents

Icewhale Technology has announced the upcoming release of the ZimaBoard 2, a single-board server designed for versatility in a compact form factor. This new model is powered by an N150 CPU, offering a quad-core architecture with a maximum frequency of 3.6 GHz and a thermal design power (TDP) of 6 watts.

The ZimaBoard 2 distinguishes itself with two SATA III connectors for external hard drives and a PCIe 3.0 x4 slot for additional hardware such as SSDs and Ethernet adapters. While these enhancements are notable, it is important to note that the compact design means that none of these additional components can be housed within the board itself.

Returning to the roots of the original ZimaBoard, which debuted in 2021, this new iteration is designed to function as a media server, file storage solution, or even as a low-power home computer. The previous model utilized older Apollo Lake processors, while the ZimaBoard 2 incorporates the latest Twin Lake architecture, promising a performance boost of up to 200%. Users can expect improved CPU and graphics capabilities without sacrificing efficiency, as the new model operates quieter and cooler during idle states.
