Allwinner's A733 is gaining traction across the single-board computer landscape, and Graperain is taking a different approach than the usual all-in-one SBC. The company's G733 development board splits the platform into a gold-finger system-on-module and a carrier board, letting embedded developers evaluate the 12nm octa-core chip on the included baseboard and then drop the 6.96 x 3.8 cm (2.7 x 1.5 inch) SoM into a custom design via its 260-pin edge connector. Where boards like the Orange Pi Zero 3W and ArmSoM Sige6 target hobbyists with ready-to-run SBCs, Graperain is aiming squarely at commercial and industrial applications, with an operating temperature range of -25°C to 75°C (-13°F to 167°F).
The A733 packs two Cortex-A76 cores at 2.0 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 1.79 GHz alongside an Imagination BXM-4-64 MC1 GPU with Vulkan 1.3 and OpenGL ES 3.2 support, a 3-TOPS NPU handling INT8, INT16, FP16, and BF16 precision for edge AI workloads, and a Xuantie E902 RISC-V real-time coprocessor clocked at up to 200 MHz that can operate independently without waking the main CPU cluster. The SoM supports 2 GB to 16 GB of LPDDR5 and up to 256 GB of eMMC or UFS 3.0 storage. The 13 x 9 cm (5.1 x 3.5 inch) carrier board adds an M.2 M-Key slot for a 2280 PCIe SSD, HDMI 2.0b and DisplayPort 1.4 output via USB-C (both driving 4K at 60 Hz), two MIPI-DSI and two MIPI-CSI connectors, Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, three UART headers, four ADC channels, and a debug UART.
Mainline Linux support for the A733 is progressing through the sunxi community. Patches for SoC and board support have been submitted targeting Linux 7.2 via Armbian, with clock driver work applied to the sunxi tree for Linux 7.3 and pinctrl patches under review. Full upstream support is still in progress, so for now Graperain ships the G733 with Android 15, Buildroot, and Debian 11, along with schematics and source code.
Graperain has not published pricing for the G733, listing both the dev board and SoM on a contact-for-quote basis typical of industrial embedded vendors.
