The GAMEMT E5 ModX is a modular handheld game console with an unusual twist: the screen and controller are separate components, and the gamepad can be repurposed as a Bluetooth controller for your smartphone. The device features a 1024 x 768 pixel display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, a MediaTek Helio P60 processor, 3GB of RAM, and either 32GB or 64GB of storage.

The controller half includes a D-pad, dual analog sticks, action buttons, shoulder triggers, and special function keys, while all the computing hardware lives inside the display module. Snap the screen into the controller and you have a traditional handheld. Separate them, and you can attach an optional magnetic back plate that holds a smartphone in landscape orientation, turning the gamepad into a Bluetooth controller for mobile games.

GAMEMT is currently showing 3D printed prototypes according to Royibeila, and pricing and availability have not been announced. The modular concept echoes ideas seen in other hybrid controllers, but the self-contained screen module approach is a distinctive take on the form factor.
