FORTEC Group has launched the SBCPRO-X51, a 3.5-inch industrial single-board computer powered by Intel's Atom x7211RE Amston Lake processor. The fanless board distinguishes itself with optional M.2 display modules that add USB-C DisplayPort or V-by-One output capabilities, a relatively uncommon approach in the industrial SBC market where M.2 slots typically serve storage or wireless connectivity.
The board features the dual-core Atom x7211RE running up to 3.2 GHz with 16EU Intel UHD graphics and a 6W TDP. It supports up to 16GB DDR5-4800 memory via SO-DIMM, M.2 2242 NVMe storage, and includes DisplayPort 1.2 output capable of 4K at 60Hz. Networking comes via dual 2.5GbE ports with optional WiFi and Bluetooth through an M.2 2230 slot. The board measures 14.6 x 10.2 cm (5.7 x 4.0 inches) and weighs 137 grams (4.8 oz) without its heatsink, operating across a temperature range of negative 20 to positive 80 degrees Celsius (negative 4 to 176 degrees Fahrenheit).
Connectivity options include USB-C 3.2 Gen 1, two USB 3.2 Type-A ports, dual RS-232/422/485 switchable serial interfaces, and basic I/O with four digital inputs and outputs. The optional M.2 display modules enable single-cable USB-C connectivity combining power, video, and touch functionality, while the V-by-One module targets larger 4K displays. The board ships with TPM 2.0 security and a watchdog timer for industrial reliability.
FORTEC supports Windows 11 IoT LTSC and various Linux distributions, promising long-term software maintenance and hardware availability for industrial deployments. The SBCPRO-X51 joins other Amston Lake options like the IBASE IB839 and Kontron 3.5-SBC-AML, though FORTEC's modular display approach sets it apart from competitors focused on traditional expansion modules. The board also serves as the foundation for the BPCPRO-X51 fanless embedded box PC. Pricing and availability details were not disclosed, but additional specifications are available on FORTEC's product page.
