Bazzite has pushed a point release to its stable branch, bumping the custom kernel from 7.2.8-ogc4.1 to 7.2.8-ogc5.1. The update also reverts a previous hardware database fix that suppressed a duplicate ACPI power button on ASUS ROG Ally devices, suggesting the workaround introduced its own issues. Existing users can pull the new image with bazzite-rollback-helper rebase stable or pin to 44.20261006.1 directly.
The rest of the stack holds steady from the prior stable cut. Mesa sits at 26.2.4, Gamescope at 3.16.31, and the Nvidia open driver at 615.71.09 alongside the 580.178.04 LTS branch for older cards. InputPlumber 0.81.0 and OpenGamepadUI 0.46.1 round out the handheld-focused tooling, while SteamOS-Manager picks up a minor packaging revision. Desktop users get GNOME 50.4 and KDE 6.7.5, and Distrobox 1.8.2.5 remains available for container-based workflows outside the immutable image.
A smaller change in this build sets the beesd deduplication daemon to verbose level 6, giving users running Btrfs more detailed logging for troubleshooting filesystem dedup passes. Combined with the kernel bump and the ROG Ally revert, it is a maintenance-focused release rather than a feature drop, keeping the stable branch tight ahead of any larger updates.
