AYANEO has revealed full specifications for the Pocket Vert, an Android handheld that reimagines the classic Game Boy's vertical design with modern hardware. The device features a 3.5 inch, 1600 x 1400 pixel LTPS display with 615 pixels per inch and up to 450 nits brightness, offering roughly 10X upscaling for original Game Boy titles on its 60 Hz screen.

Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor with active cooling, the Pocket Vert comes in two configurations: 8GB LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB UFS 3.1 storage or 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. The handheld runs Android 14 and includes WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, a fingerprint sensor in the power button, and a 9-axis gyroscope. The all-metal body houses a flush-mounted display, USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port with DisplayPort 1.4 support, microSD card reader, and 3.5mm audio jack.

The design includes several unique features, including an invisible touchpad integrated below the D-pad and action buttons for analog-style input, unlabeled action buttons that can be mapped freely, and a MagicSwitch key that adds special functions to the volume scroll wheel. Shoulder buttons sit about halfway up the back of the device. The handheld measures 86.4 x 143 x 20.5 mm (3.4 x 5.6 x 0.8 inches) and weighs 318 grams (11.2 ounces).

AYANEO positions the Pocket Vert as a semi-premium device that leverages last-generation flagship silicon to offer solid Android gaming and emulation performance at a lower price point than Windows or SteamOS handhelds. The company will offer the device in black, white, or red color options, though pricing and availability have not yet been announced.
