ASRock appears to be expanding its compact PC lineup with the DeskSlim X600, a 4.9-liter mini PC that supports full desktop AMD AM5 processors and low-profile discrete graphics cards. A recently leaked spec sheet reveals the system will accommodate Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 series CPUs up to 65W TDP, ruling out power-hungry chips like the Ryzen 7 9800X3D but opening the door for a surprisingly capable small-form-factor gaming rig.
The DeskSlim X600 packs serious expandability into its compact 9.5 x 23.5 x 22 cm (3.7 x 9.3 x 8.7 in) chassis. Four DDR5 slots support up to 256 GB of RAM with speeds up to DDR5-7200 when overclocked, while storage options include two M.2 2280 slots (one PCIe Gen 5x4, one Gen 4x4) plus two SATA ports. The real differentiator is support for dual-slot, low-profile discrete GPUs up to 20 cm (7.9 in) long, making it a potential candidate for Steam Machine-style builds. Power comes from an external brick, with options for 240W or 330W configurations.
Connectivity is comprehensive: USB4, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports (one Type-C, three Type-A), two USB 2.0 ports, 2.5G Ethernet, HDMI, DisplayPort 1.4, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The system appears to be a larger variant of the existing DeskMini X600, which launched in mid-2024 as a 1.92-liter barebone starting around $200 (€184). Pricing and availability for the DeskSlim X600 remain unannounced, with full product pages expected soon.
