The 8849tech Tank Pad Ultra is a chunky rugged Android tablet that packs a full DLP projector into its chassis, going on sale 2026-04-10 with a significantly upgraded projection system over its predecessor. Where the original Tank Pad topped out at 854 x 480 pixels and 100 lumens with manual focus, the new model bumps that to a 1920 x 1080 pixel image at up to 260 lumens with auto-focus built in.
The hardware package is otherwise substantial: a 10.95 inch 1920 x 1200 display, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, and a 23,400 mAh battery with 66W fast charging. That battery is an upgrade from the 21,000 mAh cell in the previous model. On the camera side, there's a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary shooter, a 64MP OV64B night vision camera, and a 32MP IMX616 front-facing camera. Connectivity covers WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, dual nano-SIM slots with 5G NR and 4G LTE support, a microSD slot, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
One notable trade-off: the Tank Pad Ultra uses a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 rather than the Dimensity 8300 found in the original Tank Pad, making this a lateral move in processing power despite the other upgrades. The tablet measures 268 x 170 x 24 mm (10.6 x 6.7 x 0.9 inches) and weighs 1.345 kg (2.97 lbs), with an integrated kickstand that doubles as a carry handle. Pricing has not been announced ahead of the 2026-04-10 launch date.
