The Rockchip RK3588, a chip already familiar from single-board computers like the Orange Pi 5 and Rock 5B, is finding a new role inside UGREEN's HomeAgent HA100. The device combines a NAS, network video recorder, Matter smart home controller, and local AI processing hub into a single box running UGOS Pro, a Debian-based Linux operating system. The same UGOS Pro foundation already exposes SSH terminal access with root available via sudo on UGREEN's existing NAS lineup, giving administrators a direct path into the underlying Linux system. Alongside the RK3588's built-in 6 TOPS NPU, UGREEN adds a proprietary T20 accelerator card based on the Rockchip RK1828 with 5 GB of dedicated memory, pushing total AI performance to 26 TOPS. The HA100 ships with 16 GB of LPDDR5, 64 GB of eMMC, a 2.5 Gb/s Ethernet port, four PoE camera ports, three SATA bays, and an M.2 NVMe slot. A higher-end HA100 Pro bumps AI processing to 205 TOPS with 32 GB of RAM and 10 Gb/s networking.
The first camera shipping alongside the hub is the SynCare Indoor Cam ID500 Pro, an 8 MP pan-tilt unit certified under the Matter 1.5.1 specification. It captures 4K HDR video through an F1.6 lens with starlight night vision, supports 360-degree pan and 111-degree tilt with automated motion tracking, and connects over dual-band Wi-Fi 6. Matter 1.5.1 compliance means the camera exposes full PTZ control, two-way audio, night vision and HDR toggles, and user-defined 2D motion detection zones directly through the protocol, making it controllable from any Matter-compatible platform. A physical privacy shutter provides a hardware-level kill switch for the lens. All footage routes to the HomeAgent for local storage and on-device AI processing, covering object detection, baby cry alerts, and keyword event summaries, with no cloud subscription required. UGREEN has not confirmed ONVIF or RTSP support for the camera itself, so outside of the Matter pathway it cannot be added to Home Assistant's generic camera integration or to third-party NAS platforms like Synology or QNAP, according to reporting on the SynCare lineup.
The Matter camera ecosystem is still in its early stages. Home Assistant began rolling out Matter camera support through WebRTC and AV Stream Management clusters earlier this year, though the integration remains under active development. Samsung SmartThings is currently the only major platform with fully working Matter camera playback, and Aqara has been the sole company actually shipping a Matter camera globally. No independent reports yet confirm the ID500 Pro working end to end through Home Assistant's Matter camera support specifically. UGREEN moving from its IFA showcase to open preorders puts it ahead of delayed efforts from Eve, TP-Link, and Ezviz, though buyers should note this is a crowdfunding campaign rather than an off-the-shelf product.
The HomeAgent HA100 is available for early-bird preorder at $799 (€740), down from a retail price of $1,599 (€1,500), with a $50 (€46) reservation deposit. The HA100 Pro starts at $2,699 (€2,500). The SynCare Indoor Cam ID500 Pro is offered as a campaign add-on at $89 (€82) against a $149 (€140) retail price, with outdoor models, the OD600 Pro and OD800 Pro, listed at $159 (€150) and $199 (€180) respectively. Shipping is expected in late January 2027.
