SECO's new SBC-Dragonwing-IQ-2390 squeezes a Qualcomm processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, CAN bus, and dual Gigabit Ethernet with Time-Sensitive Networking onto a board measuring just 4.7 x 11.4 cm (1.9 x 4.5 inches). The single-board computer runs Clea OS, SECO's Yocto Linux-based embedded operating system, and joins a companion 5-inch touchscreen HMI called the Compact Vision 5. Both platforms are built on Qualcomm's recently announced Dragonwing IQ-2390 processor, designed for industrial IoT applications with on-device AI.
Under the hood, the Dragonwing IQ-2390 pairs one Arm Cortex-A78 core with three Cortex-A55 cores clocked up to 1.9 GHz, an Adreno 704 GPU, and an NPU rated at 1.1 TOPS. It also integrates a RISC-V real-time microcontroller, an image signal processor for camera input, and an audio DSP. Qualcomm supports Yocto Linux, Ubuntu, and Android on the application cores, with Zephyr RTOS available for the RISC-V core. The chip is rated for operation from -30°C to +115°C (-22°F to +239°F), underscoring its industrial intent. Qualcomm's broader push toward open Linux development for its Dragonwing IoT lineup took shape in June 2026 with Qualcomm Linux 2.0, an upstream-first BSP model that tracks the mainline kernel and the 6.18.y LTS release through a meta-qcom Yocto layer, aimed at cutting down the fragmentation that has historically complicated Linux support across Qualcomm-based boards.
Both SECO platforms offer 2GB or 4GB of RAM with 16GB of eMMC storage and accept a 9V to 24V DC input. The SBC variant includes RS232, RS485, CAN, Gigabit Ethernet, USB-C, and an expansion connector exposing camera, audio, additional Ethernet, USB, and I2C/I3C signals. Clea OS 2.0 provides Docker-based application management, OTA software updates, Secure Boot, and remote device monitoring, with a Clea OS 3.0 upgrade planned. As an open-source platform built on the Yocto Project, Clea OS is hardware-agnostic by design, already extending beyond SECO's own boards to hardware built around NXP, Rockchip, MediaTek, and Intel silicon, plus the Raspberry Pi 4 and QEMU emulation targets, an approach SECO positions as a way to avoid vendor lock-in. The Compact Vision 5 wraps the same computing platform in a panel-mounted enclosure measuring 14.6 x 10.2 x 3.3 cm (5.7 x 4.0 x 1.3 inches) with an IP65-rated front panel and 5-inch touchscreen, and SECO plans 4.3-inch and 7-inch versions as well.
SECO also offers an optional AI Audio Dongle that connects over USB-C and combines a beamforming microphone array with a 5-megapixel autofocus camera capable of 30fps, targeting voice-based HMI applications in noisy industrial environments. SECO has opened an Early Access Program for both the SBC and Compact Vision 5, though pricing and general availability dates remain unannounced.
