Samsung has launched the Movingstyle LSM7F, a portable TV that blurs the line between television and tablet. The device features a 27 inch, 2560 x 1440 pixel touchscreen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, running Samsung's Tizen-based smart TV platform with streaming apps, a web browser, and support for Alexa, Google Assistant, and Bixby voice assistants.
The Movingstyle weighs 5.2 kg (11.5 pounds) without its stand and includes a 69.3 Wh battery providing up to 3 hours of unplugged runtime. It comes with a rollable floor stand that allows room-to-room mobility and supports both landscape and portrait orientation. The device can also be detached from the stand using an integrated handle that doubles as a kickstand for tabletop use.
The TV includes stereo 10W speakers, far-field microphones, one HDMI port, two USB Type-C ports, and connectivity via WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3. The concept closely mirrors LG's StanbyME, which launched four years ago with similar specifications but a 60 Hz display and webOS software instead of Tizen.
The Samsung Movingstyle LSM7F is available now for $1,200 (€1,100). Samsung also offers a lower-cost Movingstyle M7 model for $700 (€644), which provides a 32 inch 4K display with Tizen software but removes the touchscreen, battery, and high refresh rate features.
