Zotac Unveils Next Handheld Gaming PC Featuring Custom Linux OS and Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 Processor

Zotac is set to launch its latest handheld gaming PC model, featuring an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor and a custom Linux-based operating system. Following the introduction of the Zotac Gaming Zone last summer, the company will showcase this new version at Computex in Taiwan later this month.

The upcoming device will operate on an all-new Manjaro Linux-based OS, specifically designed for handheld devices. This announcement marks a significant collaboration, as it is among the first instances where Manjaro is being integrated into gaming hardware. While many anticipated support for Valve’s SteamOS, Zotac has opted for a unique operating system that aims to enhance the handheld gaming experience.

The new model is equipped with a 7-inch OLED display, capable of 120 Hz refresh rates, and includes advanced components such as LPDDR5x memory and an M.2 2280 slot supporting PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs. Connectivity options will feature WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and two USB4 ports, alongside a headphone jack and microSD card reader. The device will also maintain its predecessor’s dual analog sticks, dual trackpads, D-Pad, action buttons, and shoulder triggers.

Zotac’s first-generation Gaming Zone was powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 8840U processor, whereas the new model promises enhanced performance with its Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, featuring 12 CPU cores based on Zen 5 architecture and 16 RDNA 3.5 GPU compute cores.

Further details are expected to emerge as Computex approaches. For more information, visit Zotac’s Computex preview page.
