AYANEO Pocket EVO Debuts as Android Handheld With 7-Inch OLED Display
In the landscape of handheld gaming, AYANEO has carved out a presence with its diverse array of gaming PCs, primarily featuring Windows OS and AMD Ryzen processors. The company is now introducing the AYANEO Pocket EVO, its latest foray into Android-powered gaming devices.
Scheduled for pre-order through an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, the AYANEO Pocket EVO distinguishes itself with a 7-inch OLED display boasting a 120 Hz refresh rate, a marked upgrade over its predecessors. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 processor and is equipped with an 8,000 mAh battery, promising extended gameplay hours.
The Pocket EVO mirrors the physical design of the AYANEO 2, a handheld gaming PC that launched in 2022, with both devices sharing similar aesthetics in controllers, grips, and other features. However, the Pocket EVO transitions to an ARM/Android platform, differing in its core technology.
AYANEO’s move to a larger device format for the Android-based Pocket EVO has allowed for the incorporation of a larger heat sink and fan, comparable to those found in x86-based devices. This design choice aims to sustain the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 chip at up to 15 watts, ensuring consistent performance across native Android games, emulators, and game streaming services.
Key features of the Pocket EVO include hall sensor joysticks with RGB backlighting and a linear motor supporting four vibration modes, enhancing the gaming experience with tactile feedback.
For more information and updates, potential buyers are encouraged to follow AYANEO’s official channels and the Indiegogo campaign page.
