Samsung's 5th Gen Tandem QD-OLED panels are starting to land in shipping products, and MSI is among the first out the gate with the MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36. The 86.4 cm (34-inch) curved ultrawide pushes 3440x1440 at a blistering 360 Hz with a 0.03 ms response time, while the tandem OLED stack delivers 300 nits in SDR and up to 1,300 nits peak brightness in HDR. It carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification and an 1800R curvature.
Connectivity is a highlight here. The monitor ships with DisplayPort 2.1a at UHBR13.5, HDMI 2.1, and a USB Type-C port capable of 98 W Power Delivery, meaning it can drive and charge a laptop over a single cable. MSI has also included its AI Care Sensor and OLED Care 3.0 features aimed at mitigating burn-in, a persistent concern for anyone running static desktop elements on an OLED panel for extended sessions.
First shown at CES 2026 in January with an expected $1,099 (€1,010) price tag, the MPG 341CQR X36 launched well below that mark. MSI lists the monitor at $899 (€830), which the company says is a permanent price rather than a limited promotion. That slots it above MSI's own MPG 341CQPX, a 240 Hz QD-OLED ultrawide currently selling for around $750 (€690), but the X36 adds significantly higher brightness, a faster refresh rate, and the newer DP 2.1a standard. Stock appears tight at launch, with several retailers showing the monitor as temporarily unavailable.
