Lutris 0.5.21 brings significant runner additions to the open-source Linux game manager, headlined by support for Valve's Steam Linux Runtime 3.0 (codenamed Sniper). The new runner allows users to execute games within this containerized environment, joining the existing Scout (1.0) and Soldier (2.0) runtime options that have powered Steam's Linux compatibility efforts.

The release also introduces runners for ShadPS4, an early-stage PlayStation 4 emulator, and Xenia, the Xbox 360 research emulator. Lutris has improved its Dolphin emulator integration by switching to AppImage distribution for the GameCube and Wii emulator, and added functionality to migrate Proton versions from the runners/proton directory to runners/wine for better organization.

Additional improvements in 0.5.21 include UI and UX refinements, expanded storage type support, corrected GPU reporting via Vulkan information, and smarter Wine-Wayland warnings that only trigger under Wayland sessions rather than X11. The release also adds Portuguese language support alongside various bug fixes and performance enhancements. Shortly after release, Lutris 0.5.22 arrived with PPA CI updates and Python 3.14 compatibility fixes.
