LG has begun taking pre-orders in Japan for the LG Gram 14 (14Z95U), a new 14 inch ultraportable laptop powered by AMD's latest Ryzen AI 400 series processors. The laptop offers a choice between the Ryzen AI 5 435 or Ryzen AI 7 450 chips, AMD's recently announced Gorgon Point processors that balance performance and efficiency with integrated 50 TOPS NPUs for AI workloads. Japanese pre-orders start at ¥251,820, roughly $1,630 (€1,500), though pricing is expected to be lower when the laptop reaches other markets.
True to the LG Gram family's reputation, the new 14 inch model prioritizes portability with a weight of just 1.12 kg (2.5 lbs) and a thickness of 15.7 mm (0.6 inches). The laptop features a 1920 x 1200 pixel IPS display covering 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut with 350 nits brightness, along with up to 32GB of LPDDR5x-7500 memory and PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage. The higher-end Ryzen AI 7 450 configuration brings an 8-core, 16-thread processor paired with Radeon 860M graphics. For Linux users, AMD announced ROCm 7.2 support for the Ryzen AI 400 series at CES 2026, with Ubuntu 24.04.3 recommended for compatibility, and the company's open-source graphics and AI software stack now available as a unified Windows and Linux release.
Connectivity includes two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports (10 Gbps), two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports (5 Gbps), HDMI output, and a 3.5mm audio jack. LG equips the system with a 72 Wh battery and a 65W power adapter, along with stereo 1.5W speakers and a backlit keyboard. The laptop is set to launch in Japan later in February 2026, with global availability to be announced.
