Lenovo's latest ultraportable business laptop, the ThinkPad T14s Gen 7, tips the scales at just 1.1 kg (2.4 lbs), making it the lightest T-series ThinkPad to date. Unveiled at MWC 2026 alongside refreshed T14 and T16 models, the T14s Gen 7 runs Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors ranging from the Core Ultra 5 325 up to the Core Ultra 7 365 vPro, paired with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM clocked at 8,533 MT/s. ThinkPads have long been a favorite among Linux users for their reliable hardware support, and the latest generation continues that tradition with a refined chassis and updated internals.
The RAM is soldered on the T14s, a notable difference from the sibling ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 which keeps its memory socketed. Storage options span 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB M.2 2280 SSDs, all running over PCIe 4.0 rather than the newer PCIe 5.0 interface. Lenovo lists four display panels at launch, with three 1920x1200 IPS options at 60 Hz and a more compelling 2880x1800 OLED panel featuring a 30-120 Hz variable refresh rate and 500 nits of peak brightness. A display panel refresh bug in the Intel Xe graphics driver, involving Panel Self Refresh (PSR) and Panel Replay behavior, was identified on the T14 Gen 7 sibling and patched via drm-intel-fixes ahead of the laptops reaching customers, a positive signal for the T14s Gen 7 given the shared Panther Lake platform. Every configuration ships with a 58 Wh battery. The T14 Gen 7, meanwhile, offers optional WWAN connectivity plus fingerprint and Smart Card readers for users who need those features.
Lenovo is also introducing a Cosmic Blue color option to the T-series lineup for the first time. The T14s Gen 7 starts at $2,050 (€1,880) and is expected to begin shipping in Q2 2026 alongside the rest of the refreshed ThinkPad portfolio.
