Lenovo has refreshed its ThinkBook 14+ and 16+ laptops in China with AMD's new Ryzen AI 7 H 450 processor, a Gorgon Point APU featuring a hybrid configuration of 4 Zen 5 and 4 Zen 5c cores for 8 cores and 16 threads total. The chip is essentially an upgraded version of the Ryzen AI 7 350 with a 100 MHz clock speed bump and faster memory support. Early Geekbench 6 results suggest it can edge past Apple's M4 silicon in some tests.
Both laptops rely on the integrated Radeon 860M GPU for graphics, but Lenovo has included a TGX slot for external GPU connectivity that delivers performance comparable to OCuLink at around 64 Gbps. The 36.8 cm (14.5-inch) ThinkBook 14+ sports a 3072 x 1920 display at 120 Hz with 100% DCI-P3 coverage, while the larger 16+ model gets a 3200 x 2000 panel running at 165 Hz. Both machines pack an impressive port selection including dual USB4 Type-C, dual USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, an SD card slot, and that TGX graphics interface.
The laptops come equipped with dual-channel LPDDR5X-8533 memory and dual M.2 2280 storage slots, along with a 99.9 Wh battery, WiFi 7, IR camera with Windows Hello, and a four-speaker audio system. The configuration with 32 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage is currently available in China for 6,999 Yuan, or approximately $1,010 (€930). A global release has not been announced and appears unlikely for now.
