Lenovo's upcoming Tab Plus Gen 2 has won an iF Design Award before its official launch, revealing a 12.1-inch Android tablet with an unusually aggressive approach to audio. The device features a JBL 9-unit PRO speaker system housed in a large circular area on the back, with passive radiators designed to enhance bass response without consuming additional power. The speaker assembly makes the center of the tablet significantly thicker than its edges, creating a distinctive bulge that doubles as a functional design element.

The tablet supports both portrait and landscape orientations through a built-in stand, and Liliputing notes the device appears to work with an active stylus for input. The 2.5K display sits at 30.7 cm (12.1 inches), positioning it between typical media consumption tablets and larger productivity-focused slates. Lenovo has designed a custom case with a lift-up flap that allows users to access the speakers without removing the tablet entirely.

Lenovo has not officially announced the Tab Plus Gen 2, and the final product name may differ from the iF Design listing. The timing of the design award suggests Lenovo could showcase the device during MWC 2026 in Barcelona next week. Pricing and full specifications including processor, RAM, and battery capacity remain undisclosed.
