Huawei has launched the X3 Pro router in China with satellite units that create a mesh network capable of 3570 Mbps theoretical peak speeds over 6 GHz. The system offers an alternative to traditional Wi-Fi mesh setups by supporting PowerLAN, which extends network coverage through existing electrical wiring instead of relying solely on wireless connections.
The X3 Pro base unit includes three Gigabit Ethernet ports, two of which support 2.5 Gbit/s speeds. The PowerLAN feature could prove particularly useful in homes or apartments where wireless signals struggle to penetrate walls or reach distant rooms, offering a wired backbone without running new cables.
Huawei is selling the X3 Pro in China for CNY 1,299 ($180/€166) for the standalone router or CNY 1,999 ($277/€255) for a router and satellite bundle. Additional satellite units cost CNY 799 ($111/€102) each. The company has not announced plans for international availability.
