Dell has introduced the Dell Pro 5 14 and Pro 5 16 business laptops with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 (Panther Lake) processors and a notable twist in their memory configurations. Models equipped with higher-end processors featuring 10 or 12-core Intel Arc B3xx graphics use LPCAMM2 removable memory modules instead of traditional soldered LPDDR5, making them among the first business laptops to adopt the new standard for user-upgradeable low-power memory.
LPCAMM2 preserves the energy efficiency and space-saving benefits of LPDDR memory while allowing users to remove and replace modules for upgrades or repairs. Dell offers models with Intel Core Ultra 5 338H or Core Ultra X7 368H processors configured with 16GB to 64GB of LPDDR5-8533 memory in LPCAMM2 form factor, while configurations with 4-core Intel Graphics use traditional SODIMM slots with 8GB to 64GB of DDR5-5600 memory. Lenovo recently introduced LPCAMM2 memory in the ThinkPad T14 Gen 7, and Dell's new laptops expand adoption of the emerging standard.
Both laptops offer extensive customization options beyond memory. Display choices include LCD or OLED panels with touch or non-touch configurations and refresh rates from 60 Hz to 120 Hz variable refresh. Wireless connectivity includes Intel BE211 (WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0) or Intel AX211 (WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3) cards, with optional 4G LTE or 5G cellular modems. Webcam options include 1080p or 8MP (1440p) sensors with privacy shutters, and battery capacities range from 45 Wh to 70 Wh.
The Dell Pro 5 14 measures 31.6 x 22.6 x 1.8 cm (12.4 x 8.9 x 0.7 inches) and weighs 1.34 kg (2.96 pounds), while the Dell Pro 5 16 comes in at 35.9 x 25.3 x 1.9 cm (14.1 x 10 x 0.7 inches) and 1.82 kg (4 pounds). Both models feature two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, Gigabit Ethernet, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The laptops are expected to launch in April 2026, with pricing to be announced closer to availability. Dell is also introducing AMD Ryzen AI variants with DDR5-5600 memory in standard SODIMM format.
