Bazzite, the gaming-focused Linux distribution built on Fedora Atomic, has removed the Sunshine game streaming software from its latest unstable release due to ongoing compatibility issues. The unstable-43.20260326.1 build drops Sunshine entirely after the project's stable repository failed to support Fedora 43 for six months, leaving users without updates or fixes.

The release otherwise brings incremental updates to the gaming stack, including Linux kernel 6.19.8, Mesa 26.0.3 graphics drivers, and updated Nvidia drivers (595.58.03 for the open driver, 580.142 for LTS). Desktop environments received minor version bumps, with Gnome 49.6 and KDE Plasma 6.6.3 included. The core gaming session components like Gamescope, OpenGamepadUI, and InputPlumber remain stable from previous builds.

Bazzite's unstable branch serves as a testing ground for changes before they reach the stable release channel. Current users can rebase to this version using the built-in bazzite-rollback-helper tool, though those relying on Sunshine for game streaming to other devices will need to seek alternative solutions or stick with older builds.
