The AOOSTAR NEX 395 has launched in China for approximately $2,120 (€1,950), bringing AMD's flagship Strix Halo processor to the mini PC market in a chassis that looks more like a network appliance than a traditional computer. According to AOOSTAR's website, the system should be available globally soon, though international pricing remains unannounced.
At the heart of the NEX 395 sits the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395, a mobile chip with 16 Zen 5 CPU cores, 32 threads, and Radeon 8060S integrated graphics featuring 40 RDNA 3.5 compute units. The system ships with 128GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory delivering 256 GB/s bandwidth, with up to 96GB allocatable to the GPU for AI workloads or gaming. AOOSTAR's cooling solution allows the processor to run at up to 140 watts, pushing well beyond its standard thermal envelope.
Connectivity is generous for a mini PC, including two USB4 ports at 40 Gbps, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, dual 2.5 GbE Ethernet, DisplayPort, HDMI, and WiFi 7 support. Storage options include three M.2 slots with PCIe 4.0 x4 support. The chassis design accommodates both standalone desktop use and rack mounting for building multi-device clusters, positioning it as a versatile AI workstation or compact server.
