Anbernic has released its first dedicated gameplay video for the upcoming RG Vita Pro, showcasing the handheld running games across multiple platforms on both Linux and Android. The six-minute video demonstrates gameplay from PS2 titles like God of War II and Devil May Cry, PSP games including Ghost of Sparta and Chains of Olympus, and even Wii emulation with Muramasa: The Demon Blade.

The RG Vita Pro marks the first retro handheld to use the RockChip RK3576 processor, paired with 4 GB of RAM and a 5.46-inch 1920 x 1080 display. The octa-core chip features Cortex-A72 cores running at 1.8 GHz to 2.2 GHz with a Mali-G52 MC3 GPU, delivering noticeably smoother performance than the standard RG Vita's Unisoc processor. The video shows gameplay across GameCube, Nintendo 64, and other platforms without the performance issues that plagued the base model.

Anbernic partnered with Gamma to provide the Android side of the dual-OS setup, offering users flexibility to switch between operating systems. The Linux interface shown in the video appears refreshed compared to previous Anbernic releases. Developers have reportedly received units, suggesting support for alternative operating systems like KNULLI or ROCKNIX could arrive shortly after launch. The timing aligns with recent upstream progress on the RK3576, as Collabora merged video decoder support for the chipset into Linux 7.0 in February 2026, potentially benefiting future community firmware development.

The RG Vita Pro is expected to launch in late March 2026 with 64 GB storage and a 5,000 mAh battery supporting 18 W charging. Anbernic has not yet announced pricing, though early reports suggest it will start under or around $100 (€92).
