Onyx has released the BOOX Go 10.3 (Gen II), an updated version of its thin E Ink Android tablet that now ships with Android 15 and an optional front-lit display. The tablet features a 26.2 cm (10.3 inch), 2480 x 1860 pixel E Ink Carta display with 300 PPI and support for pressure-sensitive stylus input.

The second-generation model keeps the same display and core functionality as its predecessor but adds several key improvements. The new tablet runs Android 15 (versus Android 12 on the original), and buyers can now choose between a standard model without front lighting or a Lumi variant with adjustable brightness and color temperature controls. Both versions come with the Google Play Store pre-installed, giving users access to Android apps on the E Ink display. The Android base allows users to run open-source tools like Syncthing for file synchronization and scrcpy for screen mirroring via ADB. A community-built project called vboox provides Linux userspace drivers that work over USB or WiFi connections using evdev to create virtual input devices, though Onyx has faced ongoing criticism from the open-source community for not releasing their modified Linux kernel source code as required by the GPL.

The standard BOOX Go 10.3 (Gen II) weighs 360 grams (12.7 ounces) and measures 4.6 mm (0.18 inches) thick, while the front-lit Lumi model is slightly heavier at 364 grams (12.8 ounces) and 4.8 mm (0.19 inches) thick. Both models pack a 3700 mAh battery, USB Type-C OTG port, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, and a G-sensor for automatic screen rotation. The tablet also includes a microphone and stereo speakers for text-to-speech input and audio playback.

The BOOX Go 10.3 (Gen II) is available now for $420 (€386), while the Lumi model with front lighting sells for $450 (€414).
