Since Valve opened SteamOS 3.8 to any PC with an AMD GPU earlier this year, the hunt for compact all-AMD hardware has picked up momentum. Minisforum's latest AtomMan G1 Pro variant, model 89A6, swaps the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 for a Radeon RX 9060 XT packing 16 GB of VRAM, making it a fully AMD system from processor to graphics card and a natural fit for Valve's Linux-based console OS.
The rest of the 3.8-liter chassis carries over from the RTX 5060 model. A Ryzen 9 8945HX with 16 cores and 32 threads handles processing duties, with support for up to 96 GB of DDR5-5200 memory and dual PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots topping out at 8 TB of combined storage. Connectivity includes 5 Gbps Ethernet, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4, and a 350 W internal power supply keeps everything running. Doubling the VRAM from the RTX 5060's 8 GB gives the Radeon model significantly more headroom for 1440p gaming with large texture packs and heavier ray-tracing workloads, and 16 GB is enough to run compact large language models locally. AMD's ROCm compute stack added official support for the RX 9060 XT in version 6.4.1, giving that local inference an open-source-friendly path on Linux instead of leaning on a proprietary CUDA-only stack.
The all-AMD configuration is notable beyond raw specs. Valve's SteamOS expansion in June 2026 officially supports desktops with AMD discrete GPUs, and the open-source Mesa and RADV driver stack means kernel-level GPU support works out of the box on most Linux distributions without relying on proprietary blobs; the RX 9060 XT's RDNA4 architecture needs at least Linux kernel 6.12 and Mesa 25.0, versions already standard on current mainstream distributions. Minisforum does not certify the G1 Pro-89A6 for SteamOS, but all-AMD hardware tends to have the smoothest experience on Valve's platform, and SteamOS 3.8.x officially supports only AMD GPUs, leaving Nvidia and Intel systems dependent on alternatives. The RTX 5060 model retains its own advantages for users who want DLSS Multi Frame Generation and Nvidia's CUDA ecosystem, and reviewers have found that the SteamOS-inspired Bazzite distribution runs well on the G1 Pro chassis regardless of GPU vendor; BGR tested it on the RTX 5060 configuration and reported notable frame rate and load time improvements over the stock Windows 11 install.
Minisforum is selling the AtomMan G1 Pro-89A6 with 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD for $1,759 (€1,600), with shipping estimated for late October. The RTX 5060 version remains available at $1,719 (€1,550).
